Analysis of Status of Psychological Health in 375 Recruits

Abstract

Objectives To investigate the status of psychological health in recruits and to provide basis for psychological education. Methods The psychometry was performed by SCL-90 in 375 recruits. The results were compared with the norms of Chinese youths and Chinese recruits. Results In 375 recruits, the total score was 150.0 ± 44.8 and the positive score was 37.7 ± 21.2. The factorial scores, except interpersonal sensitivity, hostility and phobia, were all higher than the norm of Chinese youths( P 0.01 ) , and the factorial scores, except phobia, were higher than the norm of Chinese recruits( P 0.05 or P 0.01 ). Conclusions The level of psychological health in the recruits is low. The company should strengthen psychological education, and quikly adapt the recruits to the military circumstance.
