Abstract

Objective:To investigate the effect of matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9),pregnancy associated plasma protein-A(PAPP-A),and high sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)on the stability of coronary atherosclerotic plaque. Methods:A total of 43 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)were enrolled as experiment group,in which 23 patients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)and 20 patients with unstable angina(UAP)as well as 25 patients with stable angina(SAP)were studied and 13 health volunteers served as control. The levels of MMP-9 PAPP-A and hs-CRP were detected and compared. Results:The levels of MMP-9,PAPP-a and hs-CRP in experiment group were significantly more than those of control group(P0.01),SAP group(P0.05~0.01).Conclusion:The levels of MMP-9﹑PAPP-A and hs-CRP are strongly associated with plaque unstability. They may be applied in the early prevention and management of ACS.
