Abstract
New economy is based on information technology, network technology and knowledge innovation. The core of new economy is knowledge economy, but they are different concepts in that new economy is the early stage or starting point of knowledge economy. New economy is neither equivalent to network economy, since the latter refers to electronic business and net bank. Network economy is an important component part or a form of new economy, but not the whole part of it. If new economy is mistaken for network economy and publicize that network is a quick way to become wealthy, the concept of new economy may be misinterpreted. As a result, there will appear network foams and develop into foamy economy if it is not guided or regulated.
