Abstract
The reasons why Chinese must adhere to the dominant status of public ownership and diverse ownerships at the same time can be traced back to Marx's theory on the comprehensive development of beings and theory of social costs.Division of work, private ownership and deformity social relationship lead to alienation amongst human beings, and between humans and substances, thus giving rise to limited development of human beings. The dominance of public ownership is a prerequisite for the removal of alienation.Dramatic increases in productive forces and flourishing of diverse ownership economy are also essential for eliminating alienation and achieving human's overarching development.Only in this fashion can human's all-round development be obtained at minimal social costs.
