Abstract
An ecological-sensitive genetic male sterile line,Chunza, was found in maize breeding procedure, and its ecological as well as genetic mechanism was studied using different sowing stages and BSA method. The results showed that the inbred line exhibited complete sterility at all sowing stages in two years in Zhengzhou, which belonged to the type of pollen abortion male sterility.Genetic analysis results demonstrated that it was controlled by a recessive gene, and the male sterile gene was mapped on chromosome 2,linked with SSR markers umc 2129 and bnlg 1329.
