The efficacy of Trimetazidine combined with Metoprolol in the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure for the old patients

Objective: To observe the clinical effects of using Trimetazidine combined with Metoprolol on the basis of routine treatment of chronic congestive heart failure(CHF) for the old patients.Methods: 68 old chronic CHF patients were collected and randomly divided into control group(34 cases) and treatment group(34 cases).Two groups were given digitalis preparations,diuretics,vasodilators and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors.Added Trimetazidine and Metoprolol on the basis of routine treatment in treatment group,a course of 6 months,two groups were compared.Results: 31 patients showed improved symptoms in treatment group with the total effective rate of 91.18%;24 patients showed improved symptoms in control group with the total effective rate of 70.59%,there are significant differences between the two groups(P0.05).The indicators of cardiac function before and after treatment had the significant improvement in treatment group(P 0.05).Conclusion: Trimetazidine combined with Metoprolol can improve the heart function of the old patients with CHF and reduce the death rate.
