Observation of the Clinical Effect on 160 Patients with the Sciatica by Acupucting Zhongzhu(SJ 3) and Houxi(SI 3) for Treatment

Objective: To investigate and study the clinical effect through acupuncting Zhongzhu(SJ3) and Houxi(SI3) for sciatica treatment.Methods: 160 patients who had been made a diagnosis of sciatica randomly divided into therapeutic group and control group.In the therapeutic group,patients are acupucted Zhongzhu(SJ3) and Houxi(SI3) for treatment;in the control group,patients take medicine(Pill of Quick Effect to Cure Sciatica) for treatment.The effect of two groups is compared with main symptoms scoring before and after treatment.Results: After treatment,patients' effects of the therapeutic group is much better than the control group(P0.05);after 3 months follow-up,there are 17 relapse cases in the therapeutic group and 41 cases in the control group.The relapse rate of the therapeutic group is lower than the control group remarkably.Conclusion: Acupunting Zhongzhu(SJ3) and Houxi(SI3) can mediate meridians and relieve pain and spasm.That has extraordinary effect to treat sciatica.
