Abstract
[Objective] To evaluate the sensitivity and accuracy of two syphilis detection methods. [Methods] TPPA and RPR methods were applied to detect the serum of 55 syphilis patients in Qingdao Center for Disease Prevention and Control. [Results] The positive rate detected by TPPA was 96.36%, while that by RPR was 56.36%. [Conclusion] TPPA is a specific method, while RPR provides a high detection rate in the early stage of syphilis, therefore a combination of the two methods may improve the detection accuracy.
