Feng Yu-xiang and Chiang Kai-shek are both the top leaders in the contemporary history of China. The change of their relations is subtle. During the year 1927—1937, Feng Yu-xiang and Chiang Kai-shek united, then disunited, and finally reunited, along the track fromtheir initial military cooperation to Feng's allying with Chiang to purify the party to his crusading against Chiang Kai-shek with force to promote Chiang's downfall and to allying Chiang Kai-shek to be in for Anti-Japanese War by claiming to settle Xi'an Event peacefully.The paper reviews their unity and disunity as well as their influences on the society of China.
