Abstract

As a very complicated literary concept,it is hard to elaborate on the word Feng Gu with a few lines.Different people view differently on the definition of Feng Gu in Liu Xie's The Hiterany Mind and the Carving of Dragons.Based on Liu Xie's original work,the author finds it unreliable to define the word Feng Gu as a language,emotional feeling or content.Feng in the essay indicates the simplicity and conciseness of language,while Gu means the essential and powerful diction.Liu Xie's aesthetic ideal is to unify Feng Gu and ornate diction.
