Diagnosis and treatment of serious children's tracheobronchial foreign body(five cases report)

Objective To discuss diagnosis and appropriate treatments of serious children′s tracheobronchial foreign bodies.Method Clinical medical data of 5 serious children′s tracheobronchial foreign bodies was reviewed.Results All the 5 patients received bronchoscopy and the foreign bodies were removed in the operation under intravenous general anesthesia.4 cases completely recovered but 1 suffered from hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy and epilepsy.Conclusion Complication and mortality rate can be considerably reduced by timely diagnosis,pre-operative evaluation,prompt and effective peri-operative treatments.
