Abstract
Based on panel data of China from 1997 to 2008,this paper investigates on factors influencing Chinese agricultural energy efficiency in the agricultural mechanization process. It is concluded that higher mechanization level on planting, agricultural GDP,fiscal expenditure, and number of agricultural technicians, would promote agricultural energy efficiency;while the mere increase of total power of agricultural machinery, rural family income,as well as rural labor transfer, imposes negative influence. It is proposed that the mechanization process should be shifted from the current quantitive growth to the qualitive growth to ensure the sustainable development of agriculture.
