Abstract
Objective To explore the optimization conditions for extraction of total flavonoids from ginger. Methods Various trials were conducted for the extraction of total flavonoids from ginger with a three-factor at three-level orthogonal array experimental design, and the content of the extracted total flavonoids was determined with UV spectrophotometry. Results The optimized experimental parameters of extraction were ratio of ginger-50% ethanol, extraction time of one reflux and reflux times as 1∶10,1.5 hours and 3 times, respectively. Conclusion The method of is simple and feasible for extracting total flavonoids from ginger.
