Abstract
Objective To study the expression and clinical implication of multidrug resistance associated protein (MRP) in acute Methods Using semi quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT PCR), the MRP gene expression level was detected in 77 AL patients and 10 cases of a control Results The MRP mean expression level in 77 AL patients was not significantly different compared with that of the control group. MRP mean expression level in patients at relapse was greater than that of untreated patients ( t=5.32, P 0.01). Conclusion The relapse of acute leukemia is correlated to the expression of MRP gene. The overexpression of MRP gene may be as an important prognostic predictor for acute leukemia. [
