Abstract

A novel method for the determination of 16 rare earth elements in animal livers by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry( ICP-MS) was developed. Samples were dealt with digestion under high pressure,with103 Rh as the internal standard element to overcome non-spectroscopic interference and ammonia was used as dynamic reaction gas to eliminate mass spectroscopic interference. Satisfactory linearities of standard curve were obtained with correlation coefficients over 0. 999. The detection limits were in the range of 0. 2 ~ 33. 3 ng / L. The method was tested using national standard substances and the results were in good agreement with the recommended values.
