Phacoemulsification and foldable intraocular lens implantation in microcoria cataract

Objective To explore the surgical techniques and the clinical effects of phacoemulsification and foldable intraocular lens implantation in microcoria cataract.Methods 46 cases(54 eyes)of microcoria cataract through transparent limbal tunnel incision were operated by using manual pupilloplasty first,then were performed by continuous circular capsulorhexis and used stable both hands to perform phacoemulsification and foldable intraocular lens implantation.Results Following up 5 to 12 months,the visual acuity got better in 46 eyes(85.19%);the visual acuity was 0.5 or better in 34eyes(62.96%).All the pupils recovered normal or near-normal.Complications of the surgery included corneal edema,significant fibrous exudation in the anterior chamber and posterior capsule rupture.Conclusion When we master rational skill of operation,we can obtain well clinical effects in phacoemulsification in the state of microcoria cataract.
