Abstract
Objective To observe the anti-oxidative effects of ginkgo leaf extract and dipyridamole injection in patients with early diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods Sixty patients with early diabetic nephropathy were randomly assigned to control group and treatment group. The patients in control group were given conventional therapy,as well the patients in treatment group were given ginkgo leaf extract and dipyridamole injection in addition for 4 weeks. The levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),blood cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood ureanitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(Scr),urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER),serum maleic dialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were determined before and after treatment, respectively. Results There were no significant differences between pre-treatment and post-treatment in levels of BUN,Scr,FBG and HbA1c in both groups. The levels of UAER,TC,TG and MDA post-treatment were significantly decreased in treatment group, and which were lower than those of control group, but the levels of SOD and GSH-Px were increased and higher than those of control group(all P0.01).Conclusion Ginkgo leaf extract and dipyridamole injection could alleviate oxidative stress in patients with early diabetic nephropathy through regulating the serum levels of MDA,SOD and GSH-Px.
