Abstract
Five compounds were isolated from the stem branch with hooks of Uncaria scandens Smith. by column chromatography, and elucidated as methyl p-hydroxycinnamate (1), dibutyl phthalate (2), uncarine E (3), vincosamide (4) and cadambine (5) respectively. All compounds were fi rst obtained from this plant.
