Abstract

idioms are the essence of language,which are a relatively steady-going language ingredient.In social interaction,they are frequently used,creating vividness and vitality for language use.Animal idioms are an important component of idioms,and figure of speech is one of the most commonly used rhetoric method in idioms.From the perspective of contrastive analysis between Chinese and western culture,this paper attempts to contrast and analyze idioms that takes animal as tenor and their associative meaning.
