Abstract
Objective: To study the regeneration of repairing the peripheral nerve defect with different methods. Method: 24 healthy rabbits were divided into 3 groups. All the right common peroneal nerve was cut off 1cm segment with same method, then repaired with different methods; end-to-side, side-to-side(short suture)and side-to-side(long suture)methods. Afte 3 months, the nerve regeneration was compared by electrophsiological and histological examination. Result: The quality of nerve regeneration of side-to-side(long suture)groups were the best, end-to-side neurorrhaphy to repare peripheral nerve defect and possibly enlarge the sutural area could get the satisfaction result when there was no condition for nerve grafting.
