Abstract
Zen Buddhism's view of language changes from independence on to dependence on words and then to independence on when influenced by China's ancient philosophical debate between language and meanings,social historical evolution,its internal reform,personnel composition sitting in mediation and external secular culture.Beginning with the cultural background of Zen's view of language,daily language,old sayings,irrational language,self-verification and other practical and artistic representations,the paper analyzed ideological roots of Zen's independence on words,that is Zen's prajnaview of language and pointed out independence on and dependence on words formed a dialectical blending.
