Abstract
Porphyry copper deposit is an important copper deposit type in the world. This paper takes the Tuwu copper deposit of Eastern Mountain, Halasu copper deposit of Aertai Mountain, Baogutu copper deposit of western Zhungaer and Songshugou copper deposit of western Tianshan Mountain as the research example. After looking back on the simple history of deposit discovery, the geologic, geophysical, and geochemical characteristics of minerogenetics, it discusses the role of different methods in deposit discovery and inspect. In the end, the combination of prospecting methods in different phases is suggested.
