Abstract
Objective To observe the expression and distribution of CD68 in gallbladder wall and investigate their relationship with the lipid transport of gallbladder wall and cholesterol gallstone. Methods The specimens of 34 patients with cholesterol gallstone,19 patients without gallstone and 15 controls were studied by PV-9000 immunohistochemical method to detect the CD68 protein expression. Results CD68 was expressed in the apical domain of gallbladder epithelial cells. The expression of CD68 in patients with cholesterol gallstone and without gallstone was signigicantly higher compared with that in control group(P0.05).Conclusion The expression of CD68 protein is increased in patients with cholesterol gallstone and without gallstone, indicating that CD68 was related with the lipid absorption and transportation of gallbladder wall and the formation of cholesterol gallstone.
