Abstract
Solid state fermentation for lovastation production by Aspergillus terreus ATCC 20542 was carried out.The kinetic models of solid fermentation for substrate consumption, mycelial growth and lovastatin production were developed based on the experimental results. The model parameters were correlated from the experimental data, and the calculated time-course curves of the model are in good agreement with the experimental results. These models can be used to describe the characteristics of lovastatin solid state fermentation and employed to analyze the fermentation procedure.
