Abstract

[Objective] To study the influence of phacoemulsification on five sites of corneal endothelium of senile cataract with high myopia.[Methods] Patients of cataract with and without high myopia were selected, and the surgery of phacoemulsification was performed by a same surgeon. The central, nasal, temporal, superior, inferior endothelium cells were observed with a non-contact endothelium scope on pre-operation and seventh day, first month, third month and sixth month of post-operation.[Results] After operation, there were obvious differences of corneal endothelium of every site between two groups(P0.01).[Conclusion] Endothelial cells of high myopia are easier to be damaged in the phacoemulsification,so safe and reliable operation should be selected for these patients.
