Abstract
Objective To elucidate the functional changes of E-cadherin (ECD) and α-Catenin in the process of invasion and metastasis in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Methods The expressions were investigated in 41 RCC by immunohistochemical staining of SP methods. Results Decreased expression of ECD and α-Catenin correlate with the progression and higher clinical stage and poorer outcomes (P 0.05). Conclusions Reduced expression of ECD,α-Catenin can indicate the malignant biological beha- vior of RCC, α-Catenin can be helpful in predicting the prognosis of RCC.
