Abstract
A kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace iron (Ⅲ) was established. It was based on the catalysis of Fe(Ⅲ) to the discoloring reaction of malachite green by hydrogen peroxide (H_2O_2) in the presence of HCl solution and Aerosol OT as a enhancing agent. The method was sensitive and simple with good selectivity. The range of determination was 0~68 μg/L. The limit of detection was 2.82×10~(-8) g/L. This method has been applied to the determination of iron in water samples with satisfactory results.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
