Abstract

A kinetic spectrophotometric method for determination of trace iron(Ⅲ) was established. It was based on the Fe (Ⅲ) catalyzed the discoloring reaction of hydrogen peroxide (H_2O_2) reduced methylene blue in the presence of HAc-NaAc solution. The limit of detection is 3.4×10~6g/L.The rang of determination is 0~20ug/L. The optimum reaction conditions and the kinetic parameters of was determined. The kinetic reaction mechanism was also inquired. The method has been applied to the determination of iron in water samples with satisfactory lesults.
