Training and Fostering New Type of Farmers in Large Scale

Farmers are the principal part of building a new socialist countryside. It is the basic assurance of building a new socialist countryside to create a new type of farmers who has a good basic education and understands both agricultural techniques and business operations. This paper analyzed the connotation of new type of farmers, current situation of farmers' competence and the restricted factor of farmers' education and training. The paper also laid out the following countermeasures and suggestions for the training and fostering of new type of farmers:rely on the support form government, mobilize the whole society's participation, accelerate development of five contingents and promote the Program of Three Entrances into the Villages of Farmer's Education and Training in order to make farmers have access to education and training on the spot.
