Study of the Zoning Planning of Huangshan Scenic Area

The zoning planning, an important approach to balance the relations between protection and utilization, is the core content in the overall planning of scenic areas. Taking Huangshan Scenic Area as the example, the status quo of various zoning co-existing and the structure among the zones are introduced, and problems in the zoning and practice of zoning are analyzed. Improvement ideas are proposed from the aspects of zoning types and management policies, including clarifying the zoning into 4 categories and 10 sub-categories, and making management policies according to the types of human activities, constructions and land uses. Finally the concept of zoning monitoring is put forward, and the choice of monitoring indicators and criteria is preliminarily discussed.
