Abstract

A Finite Element Analysis model for a special off-road vehicle frame is established by means of UG and HYPERMESH,strength calculation and modal analysis of the frame are proceeded with the aid of ABAQUS,and vibration characteristics of the frame is obtained. In order to enhance its strength and to improve its lowest modal frequency, the structure of the frame is optimized. The results show that, for the modified frame, its maximum stress is decreased, its weight is lightened, and its lowest modal frequency is increased.
