Analysis of 46 cases with iatrogenic injuries of radial nerve

Objective To expatiate the causes, the prevention and treatment of iatrogenic radial nerve injuries.Methods Since August 1991 to December 2003,we analyzed 46 cases with iatrogenic radial nerve injuries.Results Of the 46 cases, the causes obtained the upper limbs operation of accidentally injury, the manipulative reduction in closed fracture of humeral shaft or radius and cephalic vein puncture injury.21 cases were treated non-surgically,and the other 22 cases reoperated by microscope,3 cases with tendon transfer to reconstruct function.Conclusion The operation of accidentally injury is the main cause of iatrogenic radical nerve injury.The key for prevention and treatment ofiatrogenic radial nerve injuries is that medical staff take a high responsibility and grasp a precise knowledge of pertinent anatomy, at the same time more attention and gently should be paid in operation.
