Clinical investigation on the treatment of iatrogenic radial nerve injuries

Abstract
Objective To investigate the causes and operation occasion of iatrogenic radial nerve injuries.Methods From May 1998 to Jan 2003,16 patients with iatrogenic nerve injuries were analysed.Results The causes were surgical injury in 12 cases,compression injury in 2 cases, manual reduction injury in 2 cases. Microsurgery was adopted in 10 cases, and conservative trentment was adopted in 6 cases. The outcome of microsurgery was excellent in 6 cases, good in 2 cases, may in 1 case, difference in 1 case. The excellent rate was 80(8/10). Conclusion The surgical injury is the main cause of iatrogenic injuries of radial nerve.Microsurgical remedy is effect method for iatrogenic injuries of radial nerve. The choice of operation occasion is important agent on treatment effect.
