Synthesis and Fluorescence Properties of Complexes of Eu(III)and N-(2-Hydroxybenzyl)-DL-alanine

Abstract

The binary complex of Eu(Ⅲ)with N-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-DL-alaninate(sala)and the ternary complex of Eu(Ⅲ)with the mix-ligands sala-phen were synthesized in a mixed solution.The composition of the complexes was studied by elemental analysis,molar conductance,IR spectra and thermogravimetric analysis.It is concluded that their compositions are[Eu(sala)(H2O)4].Cl and[Eu(sala)(phen)2].Cl respectively.The fluorescence spectra showed that the fluorescence intensities of the ternary complex are higher than that of binary complex.
