Abstract
To increase the fluorescence intensity of the complex of the benzoyl acetone(BA) with the Eu 3+,the ternary complex Eu(BA)_3·Phen was prepared with the 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) as the second ligand.The composition of the complex was determined by chemical and elementary analysis,and the structure of the complex was characterized by FT-IR spectra.The fluorescence spectra of the complexes were measured.Compared with the corresponding binary complex Eu(BA)_3·2H_2O,the fluorescence intensity of the ternary complex Eu(BA)_3·Phen was increased by a factor of 57%.Moreover,the fluorescence enhancement effect of the second ligand Phen on the complex was discussed.
