Abstract
YAN Fu is a famous modern Chinese scholar and enlightenment thinker.His orientation on Chinese and Western Culture transited from the enlightenment to the conservative.How to explain this transition? In my opinion,YAN never completely abandoned the traditional culture,and did not completely negative on Western culture.He just made his own rational choice on culture according to the environment.
