Abstract

Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of enamel remineralization with application of calcifying solution, fluoride solution and fluoride foam. From these three agents, the best was chosen.Method The decalcified enamel was treated with the three agents respectively. After treatment, the microhardness of enamel surface of all samples was detected. The effect of remineralization of each agent was analyzed by means of paired-sample t test. Results The surface microhardness was enhanced distinctively after the treatment with calcifying solution. The microhardness values were not changed after treatment with other agents. Conclusion Calcifying solution had the best remineralization effect, and the early carious lesion in the enamel formed during orthodontic treatment may be cured by this agent.
