Storage System Design on NAND Flash for Embedded Linux System

Abstract

The topics related to NAND flash under Linux,such as Linux MTD subsystem,NAND flash driver and file system are presented.Some topics special to NAND flash such as bad block management,booting from NAND,bugs in the MTD version under Linux kernel v2.4 and v2.6 are also described.An example design for Omap161x H2 sample is offered to indicate the real problems in NAND storage system design that needs to pay attention to.
