Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of Puerarin on deformability and aggregation of human erythrocytes.Methods:The heparinized venous blood from normal blood donor was diluted with isotonic Na chloride and Puerarin solution respectively.The aggregation and deformability of erythrocytes were measured by ektacytometer.Results:Puerarin could effectively reduce deformability and aggregation of erythrocytes when compared with normal saline(P0.01,P0.05).Conclusions:Puerarin could improve the deformability and aggregation of the normal erythrocytes.This might offer a theoretical basis for its role in treatment of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
