Abstract

Objective: To analysis the main effect of transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) . Methods : To detect serum concentrations of TGF-β of 80 patients with RA hospitalizing from Feb. to Jun. 2001 and 20 normal persons using ABC-ELISA. Results : The blood levels of TGF-β of the patients were lower than those of normal persons significantly ( P 0.01). Conclusions: TGF-β may be a protective factor in the pathogenesis of RA .
