Exploration of Civic Moral Educational Thoughts of CAI Yuan-pei

In the Republic of China,some people with advanced thought introduced and spread civic educational thought of the Western actively. CAI Yuan-pei was one of the representatives. Living through the era of the Chinese internal and external hardship background,CAI Yuan-pei was based on the in-depth reflection to Chinese traditional moral education and learns to absorb western civic moral education,put forward the new educational policy named Five Kinds of Education. He advocated civic moral education should be regarded as the core of theFive Kinds of Education. He conducted many in-depth researches and discussions for the purpose and status,content and methods of civic moral education in China,and had formatted a more systematic of citizen moral education initially. The civic moral educational thought of CAI Yuan-pei remains important enlightenment for the current ideological and political education in China.
