Abstract
Objective To compare the curative effects of point-through-point acupuncture and general acupuncture on cervical spondylopathy. Methods A randomized single-blind controlled study was conducted. A treatment group of 30 cases was treated by point-through-point acupuncture and a control gorup of 30 cases, by general acupuncture. Both groups were treated once daily, 15 times as a course, 2 courses at most. Results In the treatment group, the cure rate was 63.33% and the disappearance rates of three main symptoms were 70%, 80% and 83.33%; in the control group, the cure rate was 26.67% and the disappearance rates of three main symptoms were 30%, 46.62% and 47.37%.Conclusion There was a difference in cure rate between the two treatments for cervical spondylopathy; the effect was significantly better in the treatment group than in the control group. There was a difference in relief of three main symptoms between the two groups; it was significantly better in the treatment group than in the control group.
