Abstract
Objective To study relationship between insulin-like growth factor-I(IGF-I) and hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and its clinical significance. Methods The serum and placenta samples of 30 women with hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy(the study group) and 10 women with normal pregnancy(the control group) were taken.Radioimmunoassay(RIA) was used to detect level of IGF-I in the serum and immunohistochemical staining(SABC method) was used to detect the expression of IGF-I in the placenta.SPSS 11.5 software was used for statistic analysis.P0.05 was considered to have statistic significance. Results The serum level of IGF-I in the study group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P0.05)and with increase in severity of the disease, the expression of IGF-I protein was significantly lower in the study group. There was no difference in location of expression of IGF-I in the placental tissues both in the two groups. However, expression of IGF-I in the placental tissues in the two groups was significantly lower(P0.05).There was a linear positive relationship between intensity of expression of IGF-I and serum level of it.Conclusion IGF-I in serum may involve in pathogenesis of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy.
