Abstract

The distortional buckling may occur for cold-formed thin-walled steel open cross-section members except local buckling and overall buckling. The distortional buckling and interaction with local and overall buckling may decrease the ultimate load-carrying capacity of members and change mechanical properties. So it is essential to research the happen conditions of distortional buckling for highstrength cold-formed thin-walled steel lipped channels. In the paper, the CUFSM is used to analyze cold-formed thin-wall steel lipped channels. According to the analysis results, the influences of member length and section dimension on the distortional buckling are given.
