Status quo and performance analysis of equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning Province

Through the comprehensive comparison of the development performance of equipment manufacturing industry in 2003 and 2007 of Liaoning Province by applying principal component analysis,it is found that the competitive strength of scale of economy of various types of equipment manufacturing industry in Liaoning Province has been increasing,the total assets,profits,and export delivery value,etc.have continued to maintain a significant competitive advantage,but the overall economic performance of various industries has a substantial decline.Therefore,the key of the development of equipment manufacturing industry is to seek and implement effective strategic measures so as to improve economic efficiency and industrial operating performance.Liaoning Province should focus on the development of special equipment manufacturing industry and transportation equipment manufacturing industry to take advantage of the competitive strength of scale of economy of the two industries adequately.
