Abstract

Objective To study the germicidal efficacy and toxicity of a new compound Chinese herbs disinfectant.Methods The suspension quantitative germicidal test and animal test were used to observe the germicidal effects of the new compound Chinese herbs disinfectant. Results The killing logarithm( KL) values of Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio Parahemolyticus exposed to the No. 5 compound Chinese herbs disinfectant containing honeysuckle,creat and radix isatidis1 000 mg / L and chitosan 20 000 mg / L for 5 min were 5. 0. But the germicidal efficacy was comparatively low for Escherichia coli with the same compound. The killing rate of the natural bacteria from hybrid scallops and yellow croaker exposed to the No. 5 compound Chinese herbs disinfectant for 5 min was above 90%. The LD50of the oral acute toxicity of the disinfectant in mouse was above 5 000 mg / kg·bw. The result of mouse bone marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus test was negative. Conclusion The No. 5 compound Chinese herbs disinfectant has a more effective germicidal efficacy and may be used for the study of the practical application.
