Analysis of Mental Health and Personality Characteristics in 556 Recruits

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To understand the psychological health and personality situation of recruits.METHODS 551 recruits were tested by symptom checklist(SCL-90) and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ),we use SPSS 10.0 statistical processing.RESULTS(1)Seven factor Score of SCl-90 in recruits were higher significantly than those of the military norm(P0.05).(2)EPQ-E,EPQ-N were statistical different compared with the military norm(P0.01).(3)The results of step by step analyzing showed that factors influencing the mental health of recruits were EPQ-N,interpersonal relation,taining pressure and EPQ-L.CONCLUSIONS Instability of mood,sychological conceal tendency of personality,interpersonal relation and taining pressure are the main factors to mental health of recruits.
