Geographical Features,Ethnic Group,Culture and Religion of Gansu and Qinghai in the Missionaries' Writings

Foreign missionaries are an important group in cultural exchange between China and the west world.From the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China in the late Qing Dynasty,some missionaries came to Gansu and Qinghai, recorded and depicted the local customs,social characteristics,ethnic groups,culture and religion.Their writings are the reflection of their attitudes towards the Chinese realities and a panoramic view of the early Chinese-Western cultural exchange in Gansu and Qinghai areas.
