On the Impact of the Agreement on Trade in Financic Services of the WTO on China's Banking Legislation

Abstract

The accession to the WTO is a double-edged sword:both brings opportunities and poses challenges. This is the very situation the banking industry is facing when opening to international competition. The article starts from the financial service agreement under the WTO system, looks into the disagreements between the CHINESE banking laws and relevant WTO stipulations, and suggests some measures on modification of the CHINESE banking laws.
