Abstract

Objective: To establish a determination method of trace acrylonitrile in industrial wastewater by GC(FID).Methods: Acrylonitrile in water was segregated by headspace bottle in tepidarium into the gas, detected by gas chromatography with hydrogen flame ion detector(GC-FID),and the optimal parameters of the method were explored(headspace, balance temperature and time, and chromatographic condition). Results: Under the optimal conditions above, the retention time of acrylonitrile was 3.60 minutes, linear range of this method was from 1.26mg/L to 20.15mg/L,regression equation was y(areas of chromatographic peak) =0.314+2.60x(concentration of standard),correlation coefficient r=0.9996,detecting limit was 0.08mg/L,relative standard deviation was between 2.66% and 4.63%,recovery of added standard was between 97.67% and 104.78%,and acrylonitrile did not be interfered with some coexistence substances: methanol,n-propanol,acetonitrile and benzene. Conclusion: The determination method has been proven to be simple and effective, with good accuracy, precision and sensitivity, and can satisfy the monitoring demand of acrylonitrile in water.
